The Mark of Sin - A Fractured Universe of Perception

April 1st, 2026

The Mark of Sin began as a story—but it didn’t stay one.

What started years ago as a creative and theological exploration grew into something much larger. Over time, it expanded into a layered universe shaped by questions rather than answers—questions about belief, identity, memory, and the unseen forces that influence how we interpret reality.

This universe draws from a wide range of research and inspiration, including psychology, theology, science, cultural studies, and mythology. Elements from different traditions—Norse, Greek, and others—interweave with concepts from physics, biology, and human behavior. Some aspects are direct influences, others are subtle nods, but all of it is intentional.

The Mark of Sin exists in the space where those ideas overlap. It explores what happens when boundaries blur—between science and faith, reality and perception, the known and the unknown. Rather than choosing one lens, it allows multiple perspectives to exist at once.

For those who want to go deeper, this world extends beyond the main narrative. There are layers of lore, symbolism, and interconnected ideas that will continue to unfold over time—some of which will eventually take shape in companion materials like the Codex.

On the surface, it reads as a story.
Beneath that, it becomes something layered—something meant to be explored.

I write spiritual fantasy where memory, faith, and reality bleed quietly into one another—until the edges begin to blur.

All my sharp edges,
L.K. Tanner
